DETAILED ITINERARY 13 Days Authentic Uganda Safari Trip

Day 1 - Arrival
you will be welcomed or met at Entebbe International Airport, You will be met by your guide from Steady Safaris Limited who will meet, greet, assist transfer you to your hotel within Kampala based on the standard. Overnight in Kampala.

Day 2 – Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on-route to Murchison Falls National Park
8:00 am you will drive out of Kampala towards Murchison Falls national park. But first, you will visit the 70 sqkm sanctuaries where southern white rhinoceros roam freely. Here you will learn how the Rhino Fund started on the journey of re-introducing rhinoceros that were extinct in 1983 back into Uganda’s national park. With lunch on the route, we will arrive in the Murchison fall national park in the afternoon and visit the magnificent Murchison falls waterfalls the most powerful falls in Africa if not the world, where the river Nile is being forced into a seven-meter crevice.

Day 3 - Murchison Falls National Park Game drive and boat ride safari
Pakuba Safari Lodge is located on the northwestern edge of the park close to the Albert Nile. Because of its location game drives starting from the lodge are the best throughout the park. After an early breakfast, we start the day with a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing Rothschild giraffes, African elephants, lions, hartebeest, African buffalo and different species of birds.
We head back to the lodge for an early before we depart to an epic boat safari that takes you along the Victoria Nile upriver 23kms to Murchison falls that you will view from 200meters. During the boat safari that starts at 2:00 pm will end at around 5:00 pm. You will see a lot of animals including crocodiles, hippopotamus, and very many birds.
On return from a boat safari, we will take the Albert track route via the airstrip see a few animals on route to Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day 4 – Drive to Fort Portal
we aim to drive to the Paraa area to cross by ferry to the southern bank of the river to start our long drive towards Hoima town. We depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal. This long journey will be rewarded with amazing views as you pass country villages and local communities.
You emerge through a small town called Kyenjojo which is 52kms to Fort portal which is located in foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. We take a break for afternoon tea before we continue 34kms to the lodge where you will be spending a night.

Day 5 - Kibale Forest & Bigodi Swamp
there are close to 6000 wild chimpanzees and a variety of primates that live in the Kibale forest. There are as many butterflies, birds, and tree species that you will see. You will be served morning breakfast before you are taken to attend a briefing for chimpanzee tracking which starts at 7:30 am and ends at 8:00 am.
You will wild chimpanzee families, the red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and many other primates in Kibale Forest.

After a traditional lunch in Bigodi Village, we will visit the swamp with an expert guide, known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.

Day 6 - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
this morning after breakfast we drive through the crater lakes coming out via Ruwimi village and head to Kasese bound for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your arrival at the lodge will be in time for lunch before we check-in.
In the afternoon we will go for a short game drive.

Day 7 - Queen Elizabeth National Park
following breakfast the day begins early as we head for the mating ground of the Uganda kobs here we will track lions. We also look out for leopards, African elephants and other wild animals in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon we take on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel known for having the largest concentration of hippopotamus, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy some more of the African wildlife.

Day 8 - Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Enjoy a hike in Maramagambo Forest, famous for the Blue Lake and Bat Caves. Or go in search of the chimpanzees in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve, a beautiful gorge completely covered with tropical rainforest (optional, not included). In the afternoon departure to Bwindi forest national park home of the endangered mountain gorillas via Ishasha known for tree-climbing lions.

Day 9 - Gorilla trekking
Following your breakfast, you set off gorilla tracking, first briefing at the Bwindi impenetrable forest park offices of the area you are going to track such as Nkuringo, Ruhija, Buhoma, Rushaga or Mgahinga forest. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming to meet the gorillas on the forest floor either feeding or resting in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment.
Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires a certain level of stamina or fitness as it can often take most of the day 2 to 6 hours of ascending and descending.

Alternatively, there are other activities and excursions on offer in and around the national park; take a guided walk in the rainforest, home to several endemic bird species, colorful butterflies and rare plants. This walk offers excellent photographic opportunities and the knowledgeable guide will provide a great insight into this important habitat which stands out as a world heritage site.

When you find the mountain gorillas your time with them will be limited to 1hour before the excursion leader signals a return to the briefing area where you shall be awarded a certificate of tracking baring your names.
Walkthrough the local village, and learn about community projects that assist local farmers and their communities, and Bwindi Community Hospital which started as a health clinic under a tree and now provides vital medical and educational services to over 100,000 people.
Discover the traditions of the Batwa Pygmies, and learn about the native tribal inhabitants of the forest. The indigenous people of Bwindi forest, though no longer resident in the forest, still practice many of their traditional hunter-gatherer skills.

Day 10 - Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
after breakfast, we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest Crater Lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. Relax, take a swim or go for a dugout canoe exploration trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. There are plenty of colorful birds around the lake Bunyonyi area for those keen on birds.

Day 11 - Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Departure for Mbarara where you will have lunch before continuing to Lake Mburo national park where you are checked into Mburo safari lodge.
The rest of the evening is for resting and swimming at the lodge as no activity shall be taken.
Dinner and sleep at Mburo safari lodge.

Day 12 – Walking safari
The morning starts with a walking safari before breakfast, you will be taken to the starting point where you will meet with you ranger guide who will take you for an early morning walking safari in the surrounding area of the park. You will return for breakfast by 9:00 am and have arrest before your lunch is served. Then you will be taken on a game drive from 3:30 pm return to the lodge around 6:00 pm.

Day 13 - Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast we depart Lake Mburo and head for Entebbe. Enjoy the views one more time as we head back towards the equator where we stop for photos, last craft shopping.

You will be driven to the airport for your connecting flight back home.

1. Travelers are supposed to reach Entebbe on the tour starting the day before 8 am and leaving from the same airport at the end of the tour after 8 pm.
2. If these times can't be respected then 1 or 2 days should be calculated for the overnight in Kampala.
3. Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to see chimpanzees.
4. Kibale NP offers small walks of 1 or 2 hours followed by creative activities
5. Gorilla trekking is not allowed to anyone under 15 years of age.
6. Prices for private safari. No extra passengers added.
7. All prices are VAT included.
8. Prices are in United States dollars (USD).
9. Gorilla permits are available booking at least 6 months before the departure date.

Booking Terms
1. At the moment of booking a deposit of 40% of the total amount is due.
2. Bookings must be made at least 60 days before the date of departure.
3. Steady Safaris Ltd reserves the right to don't accept bookings made less than 60 days prior to the date of departure.
4. Full payment has to be made not less than 30 days before the departing date of the tour.
5. If the full amount is not paid in due time, Steady Safaris Ltd reserves the right to treat the booking as canceled.
6. Cancellations: 60 days prior to the departure date of the tour, a full refund of deposit; between 60 and 30 days, a refund of 50% of deposit; less than 30 days, no refund.
7. Gorilla permits are non-refundable.
