4 Days Gorillas Tracking and Lake Mburo Safari
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda and is home to roughly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population. Gorilla tracking is a popular activity for tourists visiting the park, as it provides an opportunity to observe these amazing animals in their natural habitat.
To go gorilla tracking in Bwindi, you need to obtain a permit from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The permits are limited and must be booked in advance through a registered tour operator or directly through UWA. It is recommended to book your permit well in advance, as they can sell out quickly, especially during peak season.
On the day of the tracking, visitors gather at the park headquarters for a briefing before being assigned to a gorilla family to track. The length of the trek can vary, depending on the location of the gorilla family, and can range from 1-8 hours. Once the gorillas are located, visitors are allowed to spend up to one hour with the family, observing and taking photos from a safe distance.
Gorilla tracking in Bwindi can be challenging and physically demanding, as it involves hiking through dense jungle and steep terrain. However, the experience of seeing these magnificent animals up close in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable.
